It's been an interesting few weeks indeed. Been shooting a fair bit for the Focus on Frankston competition. Gathering quite the folio to choose from. Some have already been entered. Also wandered around my good friends Yolanda and Darren's wedding snapping away. I'm starting to get a bit of a taste for portraiture, gasp! Now if someone else would let me photograph them, lol.
I've also decided to upgrade my camera. I've decided on the Canon 50D along with the Canon 17-85mm lens as an everyday lens. My trusty 1000D will become my second camera body with either the 10-24mm wide angle or 55-250mm zoom attached. Less lens changing, all good. I'm also looking into a Canon 530 EX flash to complement it, and been toying with the idea of buying a prime lens. The canon 50mm 1.8 looks like a good candidate.
My beautiful girl Nicole had a 2 week holiday in New Zealand, of which I'm unendingly jealous as I was stuck at work, but go her, couldn't be happier she had such a great time. I also got to meet her parentals for the first time upon her return. It all went really well. I'm amazed at myself how completely crazy I am about this girl!!!
One of my shots from Davey's Bay in Frankston was featured on Mike Larkan's weather report on Channel 10 sometime last week, so I keep getting told. It's a bit of a buzz having people come up to you and asking about it. Unfortunately I missed it as Mike told me he'd word me up to when it was going to be aired, but obviously I missed it, ahh well. Still, fun times.
Finally got all my shots for Canon's Photo5 uploaded and entered. A couple were fail, and tech support gave me grief trying to say I'd uploaded multiple shots for a single entry, but there's some great shots entered too, some of which are featured here, namely my liquid, bokeh, macro/close up and practically black entries.
Work is almost done for the year, thankfully, a few more weeks!!! It's been another tough one full of challenges and long hours getting the departments unrealistic expectations finished. I'm dying for more than 3 days off in a row.
Also keen for going on a shoot pretty much anytime, so if you're up, let me know, I love it
See y'all round like a rissole!

I keep missing all the good opportunities, always somewhere cool without my rig or it's sunny like it has been for the past 3 weeks.
Keep it up
